Tea or Coffee?

Are you a tea or coffee fan? I personally enjoy both! Coffee most mornings and tea the rest of the day! There are so many flavors and varieties out there that it is both wonderful and overwhelming, so to help you out, here are some of my favorites!

(Please note, these are my personal opinions and recommendations, I have not received anything from these tea companys.)

I do love a variety of Twining’s of London tea. I can usually find a small variety at a local grocery store, but usually I just order them directly from the company. If you sign-up for their newsletter, they will send you codes for discounts and free-shipping.

My favorites from Twinings are:

Another company that I get a bunch of tea from Harney & Sons. I have nevered ordered from their website, instead I purchase their loose leaf teas from Tea Thyme in Door County… they ship too! Harney sells their teas bagged as well if you prefer.

My favorites from Harney & Sons are:

Of course, their are so many other wonderful teas and choices out there, but these are the ones I always have on hand!

Do you have a favorite tea? Let me know, I’d love to try something new as well!

Ahh, the Smell of Homemade Bread!

I know for most people, bread is the devil. It goes against everyone’s diet plan, but let’s be honest… it’s the BEST! There is nothing like warm bread with a little butter on a crisp fall (or winter) day. There is something cozy about the smell of bread baking in the oven. I even know a person who bakes bread just for the aroma and never eats it!

I am a bread person myself, though I’ll admit to trying to limit it. However, baking bread I just find enjoyable. Whether you are using a bread machine or your own hands, there are so many good recipes out there to enjoy.

When having people over for dinner… perhaps one of the upcoming holiday dinners… it’s nice to have homemade bread on the table for all to enjoy. So here is one of my fail-safe, so easy to make recipes that I use over and over.

100% Whole Wheat and Super Simple to Make, from An Oregon Cottage blog.

I found this recipe at An Oregon Cottage blog. It is amazing and is 100% whole wheat! This bread is super easy to make and only takes 1 rising and you can use a mixer with a dough hook to knead it as well. If you are nervous about making your own bread, then you’ll definitely want to check out the blog as she even has a step-by-step tutorial. Just want the recipe, find it on An Oregon Cottage blog here, or follow me on Pinterest!

Young Readers

Did  you know that today is Young Readers Day? I personally was unaware of such a day, but quite glad it exists! I love reading and I am encouraging the love of books within my children. I feel it is important at every age to slow down from our crazy lives, pull out a book and focus on a new story or lesson. Some books can take you to another part of the world, others a walk through time, which ever you prefer is wonderful!

Looking for a good book, check out our list!

Sometimes though its hard to know what to read. With so many books out their it can be difficult. Just this week I found my self at the library trying to find a new book. As I happen to be scrolling the shelves, two other ladies began perusing the same aisle. All three of use unsure of what to pick. Sometimes the titles don’t grab us and we’ve been taught never to pick a book by its cover, so how does one choose? How do you choose?

I tend to follow recommendations. Thankfully, I have a great group of friends who all enjoy reading, but they each like very different genres. I will also check out recommendations on Goodreads or the newspaper. Also, if I like a book by an author, I will see what else they may have written too.

Grab a book

But since it is Young Readers Day after all. I will share a few of my favorite YA books.

Do you help your children pick out books? How do you help them? What kind of books are they interested in? Here’s a few that I’ve enjoyed sharing with my children.
